๐ "Building Bridges & Pipelines to Kutztown
Programs!" ๐ Weโre excited to announce that Dr. Tabetha
Bernstein-Danis and Dr. Nicole Johnson have been awarded $19,949
for the 2024-2026 Developing Future Special Educators Grant! ๐
This program, in collaboration with the Pocono Mountain School
District and Colonial Intermediate Unit, will create incredible
opportunities for high school students interested in special
education. ๐
Event Dates: November 19th & March 25th During
these days, selected students from PMSD will participate in info
sessions where they can meet faculty and KU students, gain
hands-on classroom experience, and explore assistive technology
and Braille resources. Lunch will be provided before they tour
our beautiful campus and attend relevant classesโall aimed at
sparking their interest in joining KUโs wonderful College of
Education Special Education Program! ๐ซโจ Next year, weโll
introduce a mentorship program for students committed to special
education: ๐ Monthly Zoom Meetings with KU student mentors and
faculty will focus on study skills, time management, networking,
and professional ethics. This is a fantastic opportunity for
Pocono Mountain and surrounding schools to inspire the next
generation of special education educators! ๐๐ผ โ๏ธ COE Students:
